Doncaster Open Day 2024
Unfortunately plans for the upcoming Doncaster LAC Open Day this year have hit some problems. We are unable to advise you on details for the 2024 Open Day. Please watch this space for information on next year’s 2025 Doncaster LAC’s Open Day.

Doncaster Open Day 2022 – followed by our famous evening Fireworks display – was held at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track on Saturday 17th December, 2022. Additional details below. One page informational flyer here.

Venue : Tom Kelly Athletics Track, Rieschiecks Reserve, George Street, Doncaster East, VIC (Melway Ref 33 J11). Map here.

Entries : Pricing TBA per event (maximum 4 events) per athlete, no refunds will be given if extra events are entered.  Any additional events entered beyond the first 4 will be removed.

Maximum Numbers of Entrants : Entries are capped per event in each age group.  Once full, entry to that event will not be possible.

Closing Date : Friday 9th, December 11:59pm (entries must be received by this date) Late Entries will not be accepted.

Age Group Progressions : Progressions of one (1) age group will be permitted for events not offered in an athlete’s age group.

Event Times:  Commence 1.00pm with first event call 12.50pm.

The organising committee reserves the right to amend the program if required on the day.

A fireworks display will conclude the evening at approx 9:30pm.

General Information

Conditions: No Late Entries or Late Changes will be accepted.
No refunds will be processed. Once an entry is submitted, it’s final.
No protests will be entered into. The decision of the Competition Director or Open Day Manager is final.

Doncaster Little Athletics Centre reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event due to extreme weather conditions.

Doncaster LAC parents will be required to do duty on the day

Competition: Generally, competition will be conducted in accordance with LAVIC Competition Regulations 2022/23 Version 6.0 as released  July 2022.

Uniform: Centre or Club Uniform with current Coles patch.

Spikes: Cone/Conical Spikes (Max7mm) may be worn in accordance with LAVIC rule 143 section footwear & shoes as revised Oct 2019.

Starting Blocks: May be used in laned track events up to 400m by U11 – U16 Age groups. Only blocks supplied by Doncaster LAC may be used. Blocks must be used if Spikes are worn by U11 – U 16 athletes and the athlete is performing a crouch start. All U6 – U16 athletes may do a standing start in all events even when wearing spikes.

Marshalling: Athletes are required to marshal as soon as their event is called over the public address system.

Clash of Events: Should an athlete believe their events will clash they should notify the Chief Official of both events. Track events take precedence over field events.  If the athlete then has to leave the field event, the athlete shall go to the track event and then resume at the field event as soon as the track event is finalised.

Progression to Final: First and second placegetters of heats (up to three heats) and the next fastest times will progress to finals.  Where four heats are required, the first placegetter in each heat and the next fastest times will progress to the final.  Lanes will be allocated in order of progression to the final.  If insufficient athletes marshal for event heats such that only one heat is required, the event will be run as a final at the scheduled Final time.  Finals fields will be posted on the toilet block following the completion of heats.

Medals: Medals for first 3 placegetters of finals.

Minimum Fields: The Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel or combine age groups in events with less than three (3) competitors.
